I thought this was going to be one of those overrated things about LA but I was wrong! This is so worth the stop. I enjoyed everything about this place. The parking can be a bit tricky but if you come from the north entrance, the free parking makes it easier to park. Then they have a shuttle bus that takes you to the top if you do not want to walk to the top. But Los Angeles has a fascinating history that goes beyond movie-making and beaches.

That road is one way down. You must take West Observatory Road to get to the Observatory. Visitors are welcome to arrive via taxi, limo, airport shuttle, and shared ride service.

Immediate pickup and drop-off for such vehicles is in the red area shown on the map below , just past the Observatory horseshoe driveway in front of the lawn.
